Minnie Mouse

Minerva 'Minnie" Mouse is the cheerful, super-girly girlfriend of Mickey Mouse. Minnie is known for, though, her cheerful attitude. Minnie has more known relatives than Mickey. She has her uncle, Mortimer Mouse. Her aunt, Agutha, her two neices, Millie and Melody and her gramdparents, Marshall and Meltida. In 1930, her father, Marcus Mouse and her mother (Name's unknown) wer intoduced in a comic strip. See a patteren there? Minnie, Mortimer, Millie, Meltida, Marcus, Marshall, Melody, and Agutha. Aughta seems a little different. ;) ha.

Minnie though has less known friends. Her friends are Daisy, Clara, Clarabelle, Penny, Patty, Heather, T.J., and Lily. She has one pet, a cat named Figaro who happens to be pluto's rival. They can be, however, friends sometimes.

Minnie is was even voiced by Walt Disney in the early cartoons! But though 1928-1940, Marcellite Garner was her voice, Then afterwards from 1940-1942, for only 2 years Thelma Boardman voiced the mouse. From 1942-1954. she was voiced by Ruth Clifford and now, since 1986, she is voiced by Russie Taylor.

A little Known secret: Officially, Walt stated about Mickey and Minnie, when he once wrote in the Film Pictorial (1933), "In private life, Mickey is married to Minnie. A lot of people have written to him asking this question, because sometimes he appears to be married to her in his films and other times still courting her. What it really amounts to is that Minnie is, for screen purposes, his leading lady. If the story calls for a romantic courtship, then Minnie is the girl; but when the story requires a married couple, then they appear as man and wife. In the studio we have decided that they are married, really." In 1997 Russi Taylor, the current voice of Minnie married Wayne Allwine, the current voice of Mickey after a five year courtship. Russi's theory about Mickey and Minnie's public image, "The characters aren't going to get married, because children relate to Mickey and Minnie at their own levels. They don't know how old Mickey and Minnie are; but if they were to get married, they would become adults, and it would spoil the illusion."
